Tat London started by me, Charlie Porter, as a side project. Somewhere I could take total control. The catalyst had been my redundancy from a charity called Kids Company. I was 27, and I had been one of their two corporate fundraisers who had stayed on until the closure. I was devastated when it finally happened and felt somewhat at a loss; it had been a place that I had seen a lot of hope, beauty and hard work and I felt quite lonely without it.
I was lucky enough to find a job in the interiors, House & Garden to be precise. With that, Tat became a place where I could concentrate my time and energy. It sadly won't be as beneficial as the time I spent at Kids Company, but I do one day hope it can become something more than just an antique store.
Having done Tat for a few years as a side hustle it is now my full-time job.
If there is anything, you are trying to find for your home which isn't on Tat I am always happy to help. In that vein I am in constant need of good topics to write about so if you have any bright ideas please do let me know.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
