Description
A pair of abstract graphic compositions executed in offset lithography, presented in matching frames. Both works employ a restricted monochrome palette of black, white, and grey.
Left: A bold geometric composition depicting an angular L-shaped or right-angle form rendered in white with soft hatched shading, set against a deep black ground with graduated charcoal-grey tonal borders suggesting a vignette or sfumato edge. The geometric form appears to float or recede in space.
Right: Three stacked motifs on a white ground: an open book at top, rendered with dense cross-hatching to suggest volume; a sinuous wave or ribbon form at centre; and a solid black fish or leaf-shaped form at bottom. Signed and dated lower right C H 74.
