Wall plate by Jan Parikrupa

This is a lovely vintage terracotta wall plate by Jan Parikrupa (b 1942) at the Pozdisovce Pottery, Slovakia. 

It is in a dark brown glaze with traditional Slovak folk art floral decoration.  The unglazed base has the round pottery stamp JAN PARIKRUPA POZDISOVCE 138 with jug logo.  There is a pierced hanging hole and the original string.

It is in good vintage condition with no chips or nibbles.  There is an old age-related feint 5 cm hairline stress crack at the left edge.  It is difficult to detect unless in a certain light and does not detract from the piece.  There is also a smaller 1 cm similar mark at the edge, on the underside.  The surface of the plate has some superficial scratches, visible on close scrutiny.
