May has moved like the wind and I am grateful to Tat London for accommodating my tardy monthly update. Between my own work, the garden and re-roofing the studio, there has barely been a moment. It is the time of the year for extending one’s reach, and the weeks have whistled by.

With the Chelsea Flower Show currently gripping the capitals attention, we turn instead to Herefordshire, where Liberty is locked in battle with Ground Elder. A plant I had previously assumed was a once a great delight and instead it is a horticultural nightmare. Still, while the weed may be relentless, Liberty’s mindset is admirably sage and as ever a delight to read.

Liberty Nimmo is a dear friend of mine, and many of you will have kept up with her journey from travel agent to farmer. From the mean streets of Brackenbury Village to the rolling hills of Wales, on to the gentler lands of Gloucestershire, she has now very much settled in Herefordshire, Cwm Cottage to be precise.
