Someone I know was once whisked away to Vienna. She was told all she needed to bring was a gown. They went to the opera that night and had the most delightful of weekends. It inevitably ended in disaster but really, what are memoirs for if not a scattering of glamorous, ultimately ill advised escapades. I implore you to make the memories. Perhaps they will not end in disaster. And even if they do, at least you will have left the house. And that is always a good start.
