A carved alabaster bust of a young woman in Renaissance-style dress. Her hair falls to her shoulders beneath a soft cap held by a narrow band, and her gown is gathered at the neckline and tied at the shoulders. The head is turned slightly to the side with a calm, distant gaze. The smooth, softly lit surfaces show off the warm translucency of the stone, typical of the Florentine and Volterra alabaster workshops of the period.
