A portrait etching depicting a young dark-haired woman in three-quarter view, her gaze cast slightly downward with an expression of introspection. She wears a richly patterned shawl decorated with bold floral and foliate motifs, a beaded necklace and small earring attributes characteristic of the Romani subject matter that fascinated many European artists of the early twentieth century. Strandberg's technique is assured and expressive, the background dissolved into loose atmospheric hatching while the figure is rendered with greater precision, drawing the eye to the face and the decorative complexity of her garment. Signed in pencil lower right, titled lower left. The verso bears a dedication inscription suggesting the work was presented as a gift, dated to 1921.
