Artist Biography - 

 

Rex Stuart-Beck, a renowned Swedish-English ceramicist, was born on February 22, 1928, in England. He died in Kungälv, Sweden, on January 19, 1984. A multi-disciplinary artist, Stuart-Beck honed his craft at the Kingston School of Art and furthered his technical knowledge in metallurgy at the Miles Aeronautical Technical School.

 

Throughout his career, Stuart-Beck enjoyed the distinction of holding solo exhibitions in notable Swedish cities such as Gothenburg and Ljungby. His talent also found a place in group exhibitions in Gothenburg and at the Värmland Museum under the auspices of the Värmland Art Association.

His artistic contributions extended to public spaces, including decorations for the high school in Ljungby, the Pensioners' Home Rud in Karlstad, the public dental care facility in Säffle, and the Arvika swimming hall. The year 1974 marked a significant recognition of his work when he received the Värmlands Musei Vänner scholarship.

Stuart-Beck's legacy is immortalized in the collections of the Värmland Museum and the Röhsska Museum, where his works continue to inspire and attract admiration.
