A charming pewter table lamp in the form of a fish, the body naturalistically modelled with engraved scale detail and a small red glass eye, the tail curving upward to carry the stem and bulb holder. The whole raised on a stepped circular pewter base. The fish as a lamp form has a long decorative history, and this example, with its confident modelling and pleasing proportions, sits comfortably within the Scandinavian tradition of figured pewter work.
