French painter and printmaker André Minaux was celebrated for his refined, modernist approach to traditional subjects. In this intimate lithograph, Minaux reimagines the still-life genre with a restrained palette and a focus on form and shadow. A tall glass pitcher, a ceramic jug nestled in a shallow dish, and a sliced melon are rendered in bold tonal contrasts, the dense blacks and soft greys giving the objects a quiet solidity.
