A vividly worked oil landscape rendered in a loose, expressionist hand, built up from thick strokes and dabs of green, teal, and ochre. The composition unfolds in classic pastoral layers: a pale, cloud-streaked sky gives way to soft blue-green hills in the distance, opening onto a verdant valley animated by slender, flame-like cypress trees. In the foreground, a loosely painted stand of pale blue wildflowers and warm earth tones anchors the scene, while touches of coral and gold punctuate the greens throughout. The brushwork is gestural and painterly rather than precise, suggesting a Mediterranean or Provençal countryside view in the tradition of mid-20th-century post-impressionist landscape painting. Signed and dated '68 in the lower right corner.
Housed in its original carved wood frame with a scalloped, ribbon-like molding and gilt inner slip, showing warm patina and light wear consistent with age.
