The artist employs a restrained palette and expressive brushwork to balance solidity with transparency, allowing colour to flicker through the underlying structure. Although the maker has yet to be identified, the painting sits comfortably within the language of European post war abstraction, where formal relationships of line, colour and space become the principal subject.
