Description
A Kayserzinn pewter jug of softly tapering form, decorated in low relief with fish and aquatic plants that drift quietly across the surface. The design wraps the body with a gentle rhythm, the motifs emerging and disappearing as the light catches the metal.

Produced in Germany around 1900, this is a good example of Kayserzinn’s contribution to the Jugendstil movement, where natural forms were favoured over rigid ornament. The handle is simple and well judged, and the spout neatly integrated, giving the piece a sense of ease rather than display.
