Oval miniature portrait of Girolamo Savonarola (1452–1498), Italian Dominican friar and reformist preacher, depicted in profile wearing his characteristic black habit and hood. Likely a 19th century copy after the celebrated portrait by Fra Bartolommeo (c.1498), one of the most recognised likenesses of the subject. Painted in oils, set within a gilt brass frame with suspension loop. Approximately 6 x 5 cm
