Antiques That Caught My Eye

30th May 2025

Antique collage on brown background with floral sofa, framed art, chair, lamp, mirror, and text: "Antiques that Caught My Eye." UK Antique Best
A Real Bundle Of Beauties

A rather eclectic bunch we have here, but variety is that very spice of life we hear so much about. I, of course, adore all the pieces below and would find a place for each, given half the chance. Yes, the house might end up looking like a marvellous hullabaloo, but I don’t think there are enough of those homes these days. Everything feels too considered, and I don’t mean a preference for maximalism or minimalism. It’s more about love. Love for objects, love for still life, love for light, not just whether things go together.

I bury my head in my hands when I see such carefully curated homes with not even a hint of fun or curiosity. This is where I’d like to chime in, chime in with these delicious morsels of exception. Yes, I hear you, many are expensive. But as I’ve said before, these are merely the entry points, the objects that introduce you to these dealers. And if you really want to get to grips with our fantastic antique community, I’d suggest signing up for full access to our Little Black Book, which we’re constantly adding to.
