If you wonder why a house has made it into this list, I would suggest looking for a photograph of the view. Ever since returning from a sunny weekend away a few weeks ago, I have been pining for one.
As much as I love London, and goodness me, I do love this place, there will always be a lack of open plains. We have a small bedroom at the top of our house with a view across the rooftops, and it scratches a certain itch. But those of you in the countryside can crow about open fields, big skies and noteworthy sunsets. So if you come across a house below that leaves you slightly scratching your head, keep an eye out for a photograph of the surrounding landscape. More often than not, that is what secured its place on the list.
Usually it is Potential that steals my heart when compiling these round-ups, but this month I found myself besotted with many of the houses below. There seems to be a remarkable number of good properties on the market. There has been much handwringing about house prices and, while I do not think this crop necessarily reflects falling values, it does reflect a shift in the market.
