Elegance on the Water - The Most Refined (and Ruinously Expensive) Cruises, August 2025
I used to think my bucket list began and ended with the Orient Express. Not very imaginative, I know — but I am, after all, a woman who loves to laze, imbibe beauty, and drink on public (and not so public) transport, so it always felt like the perfect fit. That was until Charlotte Becque presented me with the list below. A selection so plush and full of romance it feels plucked from a bygone era, when beauty was a consideration and the journey itself mattered just as much as the destination.
Of course, we’ve included a trip down the Nile — having been to Egypt earlier this year, I can’t tell you how much I delight in the idea of returning, especially if it’s aboard one of these boats. But don’t worry, the list spans the globe.
