Heart-Thumpingly Ravishing Cards for Your Loved Ones, January 2026
So yes, Valentine’s Day is a bit ridiculous and we usually ignore it. But hear me out.
I don’t know about you, but I’m increasingly aware that the one thing in short supply seems to be love. Of course, love permeates streets, homes and anywhere there is a heart pumping away, yet there does seem to be a colder, crueller bite to the air at the moment.
Here at Tat we are, for the most part, softies. And honestly, I am quite keen to see the UK, and further afield, become the happiest place possible. I know that a load of very beautiful Valentine’s Day cards are unlikely to soften all the hard edges. But still, hear me out.
Say you buy one of the cards below. All are made by independent companies. You pop a stamp on it and you do not even have to sign it. You simply let someone know they are loved, without having to say it out loud. For the British, who are famously generous with praise for their animals yet manage little more than a pat on the back for their sons, daughters and siblings, this feels like a win win.
Gentlemen, think ahead. Your partners will thank you. And ladies, if your partner is a man, he will appreciate the effort. But this does not need to be romantic. These cards are just as valid for friends, family members, former colleagues, neighbours, or anyone who could do with a quiet reminder that they are thought of.
I am an equal opportunist and would like to see as many people as possible receive a card this year. Age, gender and the various other lines we insist on drawing between ourselves can be ignored, just this once.
