The Tat Dos and Don’ts of Thank Yous, January 2026
Now that the wrapping paper has been patted down, folded up and put away for its next outing in 2026, and the snow has finally arrived, so of course we did not get a white Christmas but we have managed a treacherous start to the year, our minds can turn to thank yous.
The thank you letter feels like something of an antiquated pastime, fallen out of favour with the masses. I know this because I must admit they are one of the banes of my existence. They sit heavily upon me with a faint whiff of gilt and leave me feeling embarrassed and undeserving of whatever gift, supper or profoundly kind gesture has befallen my humble life.
