The UK Independent Cinemas Worth Leaving the House For

The talk of cinema going down the pan makes me feel a little queasy. If you have been to the cinema lately, it is golden. You sit there, perhaps with a treat in hand, and let yourself be swept away by the gloriousness of storytelling as it arrives on the screen. I am all for movie nights at home, but one must admit there can be the occasional glance at another screen. Here in the cinema you are locked in, and only if you are truly ballsy, and willing to upset your fellow cinema-goers, would you even think about taking a glimpse of that rectangularly bright ball and chain.

I think going to any cinema is a good way to spend your time. Yes, perhaps the Vue will not offer the wine selection you might find at some of the places below, but you are supporting the arts, and we need as much of that as possible. With films like Hamnet, Bride! and Wuthering Heights, and I am sure plenty of others, coming to our silver screen, it feels like a good year to frequent those bastions of entertainment.

We of course are touting the independent ones, because why not. Your money is needed, they are fantastic, and we love independents.
