A Guide to Independent and Secondhand Bookshops in London
Do you remember You’ve Got Mail, when the villain was a giant corporate bookshop, supposedly destined to wipe out every small, dishevelled, charming bookseller in its path? It felt convincing at the time and I swore off Books Etc in solidarity. Since then we’ve come to learn that the real villan was lurking in algorithms, convenience and exploitative pay. And yet many of those corners beloved by bibliophiles still exist. Long may that continue, though it will only do so with our faithful patronage hence while we listed the below, always good to have a handy map to where you will find your next great read.
