Antiques That Caught My Eye, June 2026
As we sit between Spotlight Market and Treasure House (happening next week!), I take a look at the current stock on offer from some of the finest names in the industry. I do very much enjoy a pervy peek at dealers' stock.
I may be mocked for saying this, but if you want to see a trend come down the line, it usually starts with antique dealers. They are forever the people I look to who set the tone of the industry. Many may disagree, but by the time a trend hits H&M and Zara Home it will have been sold by antique dealers two years prior.
Obviously I am not talking about dealers who specialise in one thing. I am more talking about the collector-dealers, although no one calls them that. Those dealers who carry varied stock: an 18th-century table alongside a mid-century lamp. Not those dealers who are swayed only by provenance, but those who simply 'buy what they like'.
