Jessica Light's Christmas Wish List, December 2025

Jessica Light. It would have been mad not to ask her, and the fact she replied made me profoundly grateful. I have been a fan since she took part in the House & Garden Shop in 2015. That was the first time I saw her tassels, those tassels made by her fair hands, extraordinary in colour, touch and sheer beauty. She is the queen of passementerie, with pieces commissioned by the royal family, film sets and any self respecting interiors bon vivant.
The fact you can buy one of her creations for a reasonable amount still baffles me. They sit perfectly within the idea of true luxury, the good sort, certainly not the naff sort. So take delight in her choices. They are rather marvellous.
'Need somewhere to hide the family jewels? Look no futher than CC Moulton's new collection of very glam boxes'
'The collection of Christmas tassels that I have designed and hand-made for Harrods are not only going on the tree but also any door, drawer or wardrobe handle I can find!'
'I'm a big bookworm so this would be my ideal gift and you can use it in independent book stores.'
'Thomas Merrett is one of my favourite contemporary artists. I would treasure one of his new carved scorched wood sculptures.'
I love sleepwear so much I once went to the pub in my pyjamas. Daydress make the prettiest PJs ever so I would certainly go to the pub in these.
'The beautiful new 'Pommel' light [with a hand-woven fringe by yours truly] from Aimee Betts would be my new reading light'
'Any art materials would be highly appreciated but these water colours from Choosing Keeping would inspire many paintings, except they are almost too beautiful to use.'
'Feeling a bit Gothic this year so my "Light a Candle for a Loved One' candle sconce fits the bill perfectly.'
'I have the memory of a seive so always have a notebook to hand to jot down musings and ideas. One can't have enough notebooks.'
I don't wear much jewellery but I do like a statement broach and they don't get more statement than Ange B Design's abstract wood and silver ones.
Favourite Chirstmas Tipple
My festive tipple has to be a sherry in a proper cut crystal sherry glass. Well, when I say 'a' I mean 'a bottle of'
