Liz Elliot's Christmas Wish List

As you’ll have noticed, we’ve produced many a Christmas wish lists over the years. Those are ours, of course, but this season I wanted to ask a handful of women I admire what they would choose for Christmas. The obvious first call was Liz Elliot. For those not already acquainted, she is my mother, and has been at House & Garden for quite a while. I may be biased, but her CV more than bears out her reputation. People are forever asking her opinion on their houses, their lives and everything adjacent. Naturally I asked her for her own ideal wish list. It has proved doubly helpful, not least because she resists, annually and with great determination, giving her family the slightest clue about what she might actually like. I’m delighted she has introduced me to a few new names along the way.
“This gilet is as lovely as it is thoughtfully made, crafted in their own home studio using wool sourced just around the corner. A piece with a true sense of place, and all the better for it.”

'I adore each one of their scents and would be thrilled to find my name on their ledger and collect one of their bottles every few months'
'Always enjoy a good night dress'
'Adam is a genius. Enough said.'
'Having worked with Andrew Montgomery on many shoots, I can say he is a rare talent'
'Couldn't go wrong with this one.'
'Jess Wheeler always has a marvellous selection, and these brooches are especially good.'
'I have their first candle and it’s splendid; I’ve no doubt their second will be just as good.'
'A Curzon has opened up right next to us so this only feels fitting.'
P.S When asking people for their suggestions I very much want them to plug themselves and their friends. That was a hint to my mother who clearly missed it completely. So I on her behalf I’ve added the books by father and the Tat Sconce.

'A wonderful addition to anyones home, I have two already but who couldn't want more' *
This is what I imagine she would have said if she had included it.
