Perchance to Dream: Homes with Potential. 17th May

I’m rather surprised this feature has continued — and yet here we are again. Every time I come across one of these houses I think, yes, it’s got potential. You just need to add a kitchen there, perhaps knock down a wall or two, find some new flooring... and so on. All while I sit in my own home, currently hosting bouts of damp and a healthy population of moths.
So I’ll be making grand plans for other people’s properties while failing, with spectacular consistency, to finish my own with any conviction. Still, I’ll say it again: I’ve always been a woman for a daydream.
Tat is a place for daydreamers and home lovers, and so we press on with our merry quest — ogling properties far beyond our financial reach, or indeed any practical expertise we might need to actually renovate the below.
No genius vision needed, just a few small updates — a kitchen here, a bit of flooring there — and suddenly, it’s a delight.
Chic, chic, chic.
Without doubt, one of the most extraordinary properties on the market. I even asked if I could pop by to take a few photos — they politely declined. Fools!
We really ought to have proper documentation of a home like this before some ingrate comes along and turns it into a monstrosity of sharp corners and glistening surfaces.
Slightly dated, but still darling.
First things first: the windows. Change them, please.
I don’t dislike this ramshackle rectory, but I can certainly see room for improvement. Here’s hoping one of you brave souls is up to the task.
Quite the most maddeningly designed property we've seen but god it gives you something to get your teeth into.
By the sea, surrounded by woodland and with eight bedrooms - what more could you want? Definitely a few more bathrooms.
The bones of this house are rather magnificent — and, in my humble opinion, don’t require much meddling so realistically it shouldn't be on this list.
A truly spectacular property which needs some freshening up, but not much else.
Change the bathroom and kitchen but please keep the panelling.
God, the potential here. It’s a beautiful property, though it clearly requires a heroic sum to make it even remotely workable — but to the victor, the spoils.
I’m not entirely sure the kitchen needs much work — just the furniture, really.
Bloody hell. Excuse my language, but how heavenly is this place? I’ve done you a real favour here. Get yourself down to Bridport and begin your new life, which now includes a veranda.
Seaview, enough said.
It’s not hard to see the potential in this place — it just needs someone with a steady hand and a terrific vision.
Where to start?
You'll have a good amount of unpicking here. but imagine what could be?
Charming.
