Those eagle eyed among you will notice we have split this into two halves. The partner to this piece lives on a separate page, where you will find antiques priced from £500. It felt sensible to divide them. If we only showed dream antiques, many would be left out of the conversation. Even £500 can be a stretch, though it is a little more within reach.


I include myself in this camp. Most of our home was furnished thanks to the dealers below, with the odd market find and a late night eBay bid. The house looks pretty good. Perhaps one or two more moths than I would like, but there is no evidence that they came with the pieces and I will go to my grave before I take the blame.


Moths aside, what follows is a proper parade of marvels. We end on a painting that is pure passion with a thrilling composition, and a frame to match.
