We love seeing designers work, so here is a index of the products they offer that you might not be aware of.

I had thought of doing this article a while ago, but then I saw the FT beat me to the punch with their article 'A shoppable version of our world': why interior designers are turning to retail'. It’s hardly surprising that this topic has been on the minds of those in the interiors world. It feels as though every interior designer is now venturing into product design—and who can blame them? Interior design is a demanding business. You’re juggling clients, budgets, builders, and suppliers, and every issue eventually lands on your plate. The days of the ‘Dolly Decorators’ who would simply pick a few fabrics and throw up some wallpaper are long behind us. Today’s designers are dealing with load-bearing walls, electrical layouts, and, of course, the ever-challenging clients. So, it’s easy to see why the allure of product design is so strong. With more people wanting to take the reins in designing their homes, eager to make their personal calling cards, creating a chair, a doorknob, or fabric seems like a brilliant way for designers to insert themselves into that process.
Personally, I’m all for it. I love product design. It’s genuinely exciting to see what people come up with, how the public reacts, and, in some cases, the frenzy that follows. The fact that the UK is emerging as a leader in this space makes it all the more thrilling. I’ve considered launching my own products for some time, but the sheer headache of bringing them to market and predicting the public’s response has held me back. So, hats off to the brave individuals below, and three cheers for these tempting additions to our homes.
