My guess is that many antique dealers are on holiday and eyeing up some markets, it's a quiet time for the trade, and come August it is usually dead, so you rarely get to see much new stock on the market. Come September — wowie — your senses will be treated to all sorts of new finds from across Europe, I'd guess.

This all being said, I think I have come up trumps, if I do say so myself. There are lots of lovely goods to be admired: a good twenty over £500, and a very nice little ten under. I do hope you agree. One dealer I am very keen to bring your attention to is
