Wales is a poetic place, offering everyone a home—whether in the height of summer or those weekends that crawl into autumn. As Dylan Thomas put it, “Wales is a land of sea and castles, of mountains and miners, and of small coal-black towns huddled under the wings of the hills.” The coal may be mostly gone, but the castles, the sea, the mountains, and the endless hills remain.


While many might look further afield for their holidays, why not turn to our glorious neighbour, who could offer you a home amongst fields that would make Samuel Palmer weep? If Airbnb is good for one thing, it’s for having a small crop of properties that don’t reek of fresh leather sofas under harshly spotlighted ceilings. Instead, these homes come have fires, antiques and—on occasion—some rather lovely crockery.
