Twenty Properties With Potential From £400k - £3 Million, October 2026
I was talking property this week, and one cannot overemphasise the delight in the undone: the properties where you’re not paying a premium for someone else’s terrible decisions. I’ve looked around houses where the estate agent shows you, with glee, the new bathroom or kitchen the owners have spent thousands on, and all you can think about is how quickly you could rip it out. All that new, expensive material, simply because someone couldn’t bear to live with what was there. It’s neither economical nor environmentally friendly, so below we offer an alternative: properties where the bones are terrific, really rather wonderful structures, but where the interiors (and, in fairness, sometimes the structures too) might need some tender care.
As ever, I’ve focused on period properties, some of which would happily sit in the Dream Property bracket if only they had a healthy couple of coats.
This is the last intro I’ll write for the property lists, and I have to say I think we’ve done a really sturdy job. There are some glorious places out there, and I hope you’ll agree.
