Pound the Pavements: Our Guide To Craft Week 2025

The London Craft Week (12th -18th May 2025) — a rather special moment in the interiors calendar. It’s when some of the finest establishments open their doors and welcome the hoi polloi — you and me — to explore their collaborations, installations, and demonstrations. Sometimes, if you're really lucky, it's all three.
At its core, it’s a time for our industry to shine. Britain has a glorious history of craft, and we must revel in it — give it the platform it so richly deserves. So, get your calendars out and take some time to pound the streets of London to experience some of the thrilling offerings below.

London Craft Week’s Secret Ceramics returns at Christie’s, featuring 100 anonymous ceramic works.
Proceeds support FiredUp4 studios, giving young Londoners access to ceramics.

Soane Britain debuts limited-edition wall lights by artist Kuniko Maeda, inspired by botanical forms and crafted with handmade paper from The Paper Foundation. Using the Japanese kakishibu technique, each piece is hand-dyed with persimmon ink, celebrating traditional craft and sustainable making.

Luke Irwin, known for his handmade rugs, launches a bold wallpaper collection that brings his signature textures from floor to wall.

Rose Uniacke hosts textile designer Scarlett Farrer at its Pimlico Road shop, where she’s spinning and weaving live. Her limited-edition wall hanging is on display and for sale, with proceeds supporting endangered UK craft skills.

Peascod’s limited-edition collection of gilded mirrors and reflectors combines British and Japanese influences. Handcrafted by Emma and Tobias Peascod, the pieces balance light and form, drawing inspiration from nature’s beauty and folklore. Christie’s presents an online auction of Picasso ceramics, a key event in the London summer auction season. Cox London hosts Hands and Heritage, a panel with House & Garden on why craft matters today. Chaired by Elizabeth Metcalfe, the discussion features voices from Heritage Crafts, Crafts Council, and Albion Nord. Alongside, the In Our Hands exhibition showcases works by Cox London artisans and Young Craft Citizens, celebrating heritage, emerging talent, and the enduring power of craft during London Craft Week.

Ochre’s new Marea lighting collection, crafted by Murano glassmakers, draws inspiration from Venice’s tides. Each pendant features layered tones and intricate details, reflecting years of collaboration with a specialised Murano studio. It is a tribute to Venetian craftsmanship and Ochre’s timeless design.

For London Craft Week, Jamb hosts ceramicist Isatu Hyde in their Pimlico Road showroom. Isatu will showcase her stoneware, inspired by pre-industrial craft, and present limited-edition pieces inspired by antique ceramics in Jamb’s collection.

Texere explores the connection between text and textile, showcasing artists who weave stories into fabric through techniques like embroidery, quilting, and knitting. 8 Holland Street presents Creatures at their St James’s Park gallery during London Craft Week. The collection features 50 artworks across ceramics, textiles, drawing, painting, and design, showcasing contemporary artists like Catarina Riccabona, Al Bates, and Ali Hewson, alongside modern British works by Clifford Ellis, Elisabeth Frink, and Roger Hilton.

TOAST presents the finalists of its seventh New Makers programme, showcasing emerging talent in craft. The programme supports and mentors new artisans at the start of their creative journey.

Watch members of Contemporary British Silversmiths demonstrate their craft at the V&A, featuring Juliette Bigley, Caius Bearder, Jamie Watson, and Wayne Meeton. Each brings a unique style—from abstract sculptural forms to engraved coastal textures and playful, kinetic designs. Meeton, an award-winning silversmith, showcases work celebrated for exceptional creativity and design.

Visit the historic Pewterers’ Hall during open days to explore 550 years of pewter craftsmanship. Tour the hall, see displays of historic and modern pewter, and meet working pewtersmiths, including Gordon Robertson, Gill Clement, and Trish Woods. Learn about pewter’s past and present, and join a special talk with V&A curator Angus Patterson

Tess Newall and Alfred Newall present the Herbarium Cabinet, a handcrafted piece blending art and furniture-making, inspired by botanical history and traditional craft. Displayed at the Linnean Society library, the cabinet features hand-painted plant studies in a decoupage style, shown alongside original Linnaeus specimens. On Wednesday, 14 May, Tess leads a botanical drawing workshop with an introduction from the Linnean Society.

Low Tide / High Tide is a new table collection by Sebastian Cox and marbling artist NAT MAKS, inspired by tidal rhythms. Crafted with heritage techniques and seasonal palettes, these pieces embody the flow of water and the spirit of the land.

This group show pairs rare ironwork mirrors by late Italian artisan Salvino Marsura with Béton Brut’s contemporary design. Salvino’s expressive metalwork, rooted in brutalism and traditional craft, is shown alongside new pieces by designers David Horan, Archive for Space, and Grace Prince—each exploring innovative materials and techniques in furniture and sculpture.

Mint Gallery presents Spring Tide, an exhibition exploring the dialogue between contemporary design and the natural world. Featuring works by renowned names such as Max Lipsey and Studio Onno, alongside emerging talents, the show centres on themes of sustainability, upcycling, and the elemental patterns that shape our environment.
Lipsey draws on his fascination with craft and nature to create intuitive, eye-catching objects, while Studio Onno takes inspiration from geological forms to produce sculptural, material-led pieces. Mint continues to champion cutting-edge design with a focus on craftsmanship, offering an evolving selection of ceramics, glassware, and textiles.
Spring Tide celebrates the quiet power of nature and the imaginative energy of design—where form grows from essence as much as from excess.

I had the opportunity to explore Light in the Box Auctions and Marketplaces, and I must say, my experience was quite positive! The platform is user-friendly, making it easy to navigate through various listings, for more reviews visit light in the box . I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of products available, from fashion to electronics, all at competitive prices. The bidding process was straightforward, and I felt a sense of excitement as I placed my bids. Overall, I left feeling hopeful about finding great deals and discovering unique items in the future!
