I am rather proud of this selection. I can tell you, it takes some time to find such a curation of houses that mix beauty with a touch of degradation. That being said, around ten percent are really in quite good nick and would only need a thin lick of paint to be back in sturdy shape.

We welcome back an old friend to this list: the wonderful Dyffryn House, which featured in Knock Knock back in 2021. We’ve long admired what Helen has done with this house. You’d be hard-pressed to find many properties as glorious as this, ready to make your own. One can only imagine the memories made here — by Helen, her family, and the many others who’ve rented it over the years.

I really don’t want to brag, but I’m quite happy to in this case — not on my own behalf, but on behalf of the UK and the marvellous things it has lined up for July. We, I hope, are set for a beautiful month, and there’s certainly no shortage of ways to fill those sunny days. Whether it’s the Soho Fête, the Spotlight Market, or Paxton House’s Antiques Weekend, Charlotte Becque has winkle-picked these glorious activities for your enjoyment.
